Design of achromatic augmented reality visors based on composite metasurfaces

چکیده
A compact near-eye visor (NEV) system that can guide light from a display to the eye could transform augmented reality (AR) technology. Unfortunately, existing implementations of such an NEV either suffer small field view or chromatic aberrations. See-through quality and bulkiness further make overall performance visors unsuitable for seamless user experience. Metasurfaces are emerging class nanophotonic elements dramatically reduce size optical while enhancing functionality. In this paper, we present design composite metasurfaces ultra-compact NEV. We simulate proof-of-principle corrected aberrations providing large (>77{\deg} both horizontally vertically), good see-through (>70% transmission less than wavelength root mean-square (RMS) wavefront error over whole visible range), as needed immersive AR
